Chapter 2.

                        Melissa’s new friend.

Melissa was happy and excited to begin her new life here in London. She was going to a new school and miss Willow was a teacher there. Everyone liked to hang out with Melissa. But Melissa never seemed to like hanging out with people in the same age. She liked to be friends with anyone younger or older because she was an only child in her small family. She would talk, smile and laugh with her same aged friends but deep down she didn’t really like that very much.

Melissa was a brave fearless girl. She liked to stand up to what is right. She did many things in her school to stand up for justice. And that is how Melissa found her new friend.

It was on joyous Wednesday afternoon and children were coming out of the auditorium after watching a movie about self respectiveness when she heard some older boys bully a boy that is younger than them. She ran to that place and said “Hey, why won’t you go over there and pick someone you own size” and kicked the boys in their stomach.

The boys came to fight and suddenly the boy that was being bullied stood up and said, “I am their size” and started punching them like crazy. The boys had enough and said “Okay you win this time door stopper. But this isn’t the last you’ll see me.” And then ran away. “Hey, are you okay? You had some pretty good moves back there.” The boy said. “Yeah, I do karate but, you’re not so bad yourself. For a second, I thought you were being bullied by those older kids. Are you new here?” Melissa said.

“Yeah, I’m Christopher stevens and I’m in the fifth grade. And those older kids in the sixth grade, one of them is a boy in my old school who bullied me, he called me door stopper. One day he stopped going to school there and moved. After some time, we also had to move. And when I found out that I was going to school with him I learned a bit of jiu jitsu enough to scare away him for a couple of days. But don’t worry, he will be coming back. His name is John, and he was known for not quitting on anything in my school.” Cristopher said.

“Okay. If you are free today afterwards, I want you to meet my guardian miss Willow. She is my legal guardian, and she adopted me just three months ago. However, she is upset that I don’t have any friends, and I want to show her that I really do have friends. Okay maybe one friend.” Melissa said. Christopher stayed a moment in disbelief and said “wow you are an interesting girl. I don’t even know your name yet and you invite me into your home without any fear.” Then Melissa said “First of all, my name is Melissa faith and second of all, I did not invite you to our home. I said meet my guardian and miss Willow is a teacher in this school so we don’t have to go to our home, my brothers would kill me.

They’re only 4 years older than you and they’re twins. They’re names are Charles and William.” “Okay then, I’ll come to meet miss Willow. Meet me under the olive tree in the playground after school and we’ll go there together as friends.”

They were only pretending to be friends, but little did they know they would become best of friends after that. And after that they became best friends. They talked about what they were feeling, and they both would stand up for justice together. Though they would only talk during the interval they also could talk after school and at Melissa’s house.
